Four Donegal Schools compete in Science Debates Come and lend your support to your local school team. Members of the public are welcome to attend these debates. Pobal Scoil Ghaoth Dobhair and St. Eunan’s College, Letterkenny face each other first in Leabharlann Phobal Gaoth Dobhair on Wednesday 18 January 2012 at 2.00pm. Teams from Magh Ene College, Bundoran and Abbey Vocational School, Donegal Town will meet on Thursday 26 January 2012 at 11.00am in Bundoran Community Library. The teams will debate the motion: ‘The potential benefits of using embryonic stem cells to develop new medical treatments mean we have a moral obligation to support this type of research.’
Milford Community Library on TG4Milford, Co Donegal will feature on TG4's new series 'An G Team', which starts on Sunday January 15th at 8pm and is repeated on Wednesdays at 8.30pm. This is a competition to encourage small towns in non-Gealtacht areas to improve their Irish. The community in and around Milford staged a number of events and activities to improve their Irish as much as possible and encourage its use. Donegal County Council were involved and Milford Library hosted a number of events as Gaeilge. All towns entered feature in programme 1 as the 12 towns taking part are revealed, so a few minutes of the first show will feature footage from Milford Keep watching weekly for footage of Milford's efforts and activities leading up to G Day which took place in July 2011.
